Irony?

To date, reports are still sketchy regarding the shooting case of Ted Failon's wife, who according to two very conflicting reports aired by ABS-CBN's TV Patrol on 15-April-09, was either shot by her husband or attempted to commit suicide.

For those not in the know, Mr. Failon is a renowned newscaster of ABS-CBN, a major broadcasting force in the Philippines, and a former congressman.

The famed newsman, however, was taken into police custody for questioning and for paraffin tests as authorities stated that there were major inconsistencies in his statements that may potentially lead to a strong case of attempted homicide against him.

However, Failon's wife, at press time, is still in the hospital struggling for her very life. My wish is for her safety and for her quick recovery to shed light to this highly unusual situation.

As people go into the 'wait-and-see' phase, many can't help but think that this is another case of irony in a world that's filled with it.
